Laboratory Technologist/ Andrologist

Cryos International USA, a leading international sperm bank with headquarters in Denmark, is seeking a highly motivated Full Time Laboratory Technologist or Andrologist.  Working together with the Cryos USA team of colleagues' key elements of this position are quality, production, distribution and service. The position requires great attention to detail and strict adherence to company laboratory procedures. The candidate should have the ability to work systematically and independently once trained. Previous experience in andrology is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to otherwise highly qualified candidates. This is a non-supervisory position.

Primary Tasks:

  • Recruitment, reception and counseling of donors and client depositors.  
  • Interview and screen potential donors.  
  • Welcome donors and visitors at the main entrance   
  • Registration, analysis, handling and cryo-preservation of semen samples  
  • Accessioning of donor samples and effectively answering donor questions and concerns  
  • Track progress of batches/follow-up with donors  
  • Ensure the established collection process is effective and product goals met.  
  • Determine and implement the most effective use of scheduling both donations and medical exams.  
  • Monitor/evaluate and respond to issues related to potential and established donors.  
  • Analyze existing donor activity and develop methods for increasing donor quality and quantity.  
  • Answers phone calls and manages them accordingly  
  • Creates new donor files, ensures all donor paperwork is complete and properly entered into the Cryobase and SharePoint.   
  • Other administrative duties may be required  
  • Communicates substandard specimens to donors to help increase productivity by alerting senior personnel.  
  • Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling; sorting specimens, verifying labeling, logging specimens, arranging reports for delivery, keeping work surfaces clean and orderly.  
  • Maintains patient and donor confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential  
  • Responsible for processing, storage, shipping and tracking of tissue bank specimens  
  • Stock handling  
  • Blood collection, requisition preparation, responsible for scheduling batch closes, and packing of collection kits.  
  • Daily Quality control  
  • Ensure that PT specimens are handled in the same manner as patient specimens.  
  • Assist the Laboratory Supervisor and Manager with various projects  
  • Preparing specimens and samples.  
  • Ensure production goals are met for each donor specimen.  
  • Identifies and communicates substandard donor specimens by alerting supervisory personnel  
  • General laboratory duties and maintenance including constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment i.e. centrifuges, titrations, pipets, and fume hoods.  
  • Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses  
  • Alerting supervisory personnel of laboratory stock needs.  
  • Recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25-$30 per hour
